Vintage MCM (or earlier?) gold-tone and red enamel paste brooch. 1950s estimated

This is a curious little vintage find that will appeal to those of us who enjoy classic 1950s glamour! However, with it's gold tone, faux seed pearls and (mother of pearl?) red paste focal point with filigree scrolled metal-work , it may also jump out at those who enjoy more gothic or renaissance revival styles of the Victorian era. Fastener is a round hinge and 'safety clasp' which has been soldered onto the piece at the time of creation. Approx 1 inch in size. I can't see a signature.
