Vintage MONTREAL CANADIENS Kids EQUIPMENT Duffel BAG NHL Hockey CANVAS Bag

Here is a vintage a kids hockey equipment Duffle featuring the Montreal Canadians emblem. I am not 100% sure what era it was originally from, but the gentleman I purchased it off said he had it as a kid in the late 1950’s into the 1960’s (he couldn’t remember exactly what year he got it). The bag is made of a cotton canvas material. It does have some spots and areas of discolouration, on the back the stitching at the centre seams, has given away and it is split for 7 inches. I have no sewing skills what so ever so I have not tried to repair it, but anyone with basic sewing skills could repair and close up the seam fairly easily I believe. All of its original brass grommets are intact and attached still, and what I believe is the original rope is still attached at the top. I have taken several pictures of the bag , front and back, including a close up of the seam split (with a ruler in the picture for you to get an idea of size. When laid out flat It measures 15 inches by 29 inches approximately. I doubt many of these survived. Back in the day kids played outdoors on rivers and ponds, and equipment bags like these would have just sat in a snow bank, getting wet while the kids played. They were more than likely not dried out properly and left to rot, being thrown out as soon as the child graduated to larger size equipment. The fact that this survived at all is a minor miracle.
