Vintage Marimekko Textile / Fabric “Kumiseva” by Katsuji Wakisaka, Finland, 1971

This is vintage fabric/textile designed by Katsuji Wakisaka for Marimekko, Finland, 1971. It is intact except that the selvage has been cut along one side for about 9.5” as shown in photo. There are some stains, mostly on or near the selvage, as shown in photos, and creases from being folded. Beautiful fabric, colours are very crisp and not at all faded. A mounted but much smaller piece of this fabric sold on 1st Dibs for $650. This piece measures approximately 96” long x 53” wide including selvage, and includes almost two entire repeats of the pattern. 100% cotton. Would be a fabulous large wall mounted textile for a 60s or 70s, or Scandinavian style home.
