Vintage Metal 1950s reading glasses petite

These unique glasses feature a full metal frame and half size lenses. Designed to be worn at the bottom of your nose while you read, and allow you to have clear distance vision with no lens when looking up normally. They also feature an early spring loaded hinge style! This pair features a brushed metal finish in a rose goldy tone, stamped with 5 1/2 (presumably the size) as well as the patent number and 44/23 which may relate to the reading strength in relation to 20/20 (my estimate makes these about +1.00, but please take to your optometrist to have lenses fitted if you need an rx) The frame features multiple screws, most notably at the top of the nose bridge to create a seamless construction. This is a petite size frame measuring approx 13cm wide. Temples measure approx 14cm long Lenses are approx 4 cm across per lens,and 2cm deep These frames, from the 50s or 60s show a great mid century style and do have some tarnishing and wear on the temples.
