Vintage Metz Crest Brooch

This vintage brooch is made of a silver tone metal (like sterling but not stamped) and has an old safety pin closure. The brooch features a crest in white and dark blue/black with the name Metz at the top, and a decorative silver border around it. It's unclear if this represents a family crest or a WWII air squadron, but those are the two best options after my research. There is wear throughout, please see the pictures.
