Vintage Onyx Oval Brooch

This vintage brooch is made of a silver tone metal and has a modern locking c pin closure. The brooch has a somewhat ornate border surrounding a smooth, opaque black stone. Through testing, I narrowed down the black material to onyx based on the following criteria: it stays cold to the touch, it doesn’t scratch easily, it has no bubbles inside, and it's in a non-precious metal setting. It's also completely opaque, letting through zero light. The brooch has normal vintage wear and would benefit from a scrub, but there are no issues affecting wearability.
