Add a pop of color to your outfit with this elegant beaded necklace. Perfect for any occasion. Honestly, we need to find a new name for choker style ie hugger, neck wrap …?
This necklace is a 16” single strand of opalescent faux pearls in a robin's egg blue colour vintage choker necklace; it can be made smaller with its single hook closer. The beads glow in their centre so I speculate that they are possibly a semi precious stone. Unfortunately I have been unable to identify them. The term "opalescent" refers to a milky iridescence, which these pearls seem to exhibit, giving them a soft glow. The choker style became popular in the 1920s, often associated with the flapper era and Coco Chanel. Chokers have remained a popular trend throughout history, including the 1980s and continuing into modern fashion.
