A plaster statue of the Virgin Mary, possibly as Our Lady of The Smile; the Virgin is looking down in a caring manner with a hint of a smile. Our Lady of the Smile refers to a visitation of the Virgin to St. Therese in 1883, when she cured the then 10 year old girl. The statue was made by Petrucci Carli, which was formed by joining 2 Italian Canadian artist houses in Montreal in 1929 but closed its doors in 1960.
The piece is 10 1/4" tall and is 8 3/4" wide by 5" in depth.
