Vintage Pyrex 1.5 qt. Oval baking dish is in fantastic condition. Lid markings:  Pyrex, 9 43 C 2 Dish markings: 043, 1 1/2 qt. Pyrex, made in the USA, Ovenware, 14. This pattern is unofficially known as Regency Pattern.  Introduced in 1965 an was only manufactured in 1965. It was first introduced on the 1.5 qt. Oval Casserole dish with clear lid and cradle. The color can be deceptive, I ts printed I n yellow on a brown background  even though it looks gold. Corning Glass Works offered its first patterned opalware gift set in 1953 with the Heinz baking dish that sold in grocery stores. Widespread distribution of promotional patterns occurred after the overwhelming success of the 1956 release of the "Seasonal decorator Casserole,  using existing Pyrex shapes, gift sets featured new patterns offered for a limited production time.  The often came with mounted, cradles, or candle warmers. Corning continued to make gift sets through 1983 creating 135 different gift set patterns which they intended to be sold for a limited time, and directed stores to remove older unsold promotional items from the shelves.
