Vintage Robert Mitchell and Co. Brass Fire Starter Tankards - with Pumice Stone

Canadian made brass fire starter tankard made by Robert Mitchell & Co., founded in Quebec City in 1851. In 1942, a new plant was open in St. Laurent, Quebec to produce brass ammunition cartridges for the 2nd World War. This tankard is circa 1940s and because it is weighted at the bottom to prevent tipping, plus the pumice stone it is very heavy ( 4 1/2 lb) any munition marks. It is marked with the early Mitchell Canada stamp on the bottom. The flat lid is attached to the handle with a hinge and has a slot to accommodate the pumice stone. The pumice stone is attached to a brass rod decorated at the top end with a sailing ship. Approximate measurements of tankard - 6 1/4" X 4 1/8") Approximate measurements of pumice stone - 11" X 2 1/2" ⚠️Nb. There’s a smoky smell residue inside the tankard from previous usage.
