Vintage 1960’s Royal Boch Boerenbont Gingham Hand Painted Coffee Teacup + Saucer Made in Belgium Made in Belgium by Royal Boch, also known as Boch la Louviere or Boch Freres, Boerenbont translating to “Farmers Colourful” is the most well known and most used dinnerware type in the Netherlands. The design is simple, consisting of leaves in blue, with a yellow and red flower and leaves in green, and made of an off white earthenware. This standardized version evolved from a tradition of loose and simple painted earthenware in the Netherlands and Belgium beginning around 1840. These items are dated approx. 1965. This cup and saucer set is in excellent condition; no chips, cracks, repairs, etc. Measurements: Cup: 2.75” inches height x 2.75” inches diameter x 3.75” inches length (including handle) Saucer: 5.5” inches diameter Vintage china/items often have small manufacturing flaws and/or signs of use; these do not affect the integrity of the item but is something to be mindful of when purchasing.
