Vintage Royal Crown Derby Mikado 7” Blue & White Plate Dessert Side England

Gorgeous vintage 7 1/8” bone china Dessert Plate from Royal Crown Derby, England. Features a Japanese design with rich gold edging on a slightly scalloped rim dating to the early to mid 20th century. The iconic vibrant blue on white Mikado design was created by Royal Crown Derby’s art director, Thomas Amos Reed in 1884. It was inspired by rice paper drawings that he had obtained in the Far East. The original illustrations formed the basis of the scenes. The plate includes three figures set against a river background with floral and leaf pattern in a vivid flow blue.
