This is an adorable and highly collectible vintage dog figurine from the renowned artist Sandra Brue, produced under her company, Sandicast. This piece is a beautiful, lifelike depiction of a Cocker Spaniel puppy lying down.
Maker: Sandra Brue / Sandicast. Sandicast pieces are known for their incredibly realistic details and expressive eyes, often referred to as "pity eyes" or "big eyes," capturing the sweet nature of puppies.
Breed: Cocker Spaniel (or similar Spaniel breed).
Design: The statue is intricately detailed with realistic fur texture, long floppy ears, and a charming, lifelike pose with the head resting on the paws.
Color: A beautiful, multi-tonal tan and brown color palette. The dark, expressive eyes add significant character.
Material: The figurine is made of heavy cast resin (a Sandicast hallmark) and is hand-painted.
Dimensions: Approximately 6 inches (15.2 cm) long and around 3 inches (7.6 cm) high.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. There is light paint wear consistent with age, primarily a couple of small white scuffs visible on the back/shoulders (please see photos). The base features the original red felt protector. While the piece is not visibly marked with the Sandicast signature in the photos, the style is unmistakably that of Sandra Brue.
