Vintage Silver Plate Incense Burner / Hinged Hanging Ball. Hinged sphere opens up to receive incense, or potpourri, a candle, or I believe it was originally used as a cricket cage. It closes with a swivel latch. This could be hung on a Christmas tree if you use a fairly strong branch, as it's a little heavy for an ornament.
