Stunning vintage Sphinx A530 Gold Tone Chunky Statement Brooch Circa. 1940's / 50's Baroque / Rococo in style Gold tone metal domed brooch intricately designed and set with carnelian brown-red glass cabochons and a large poured glass stone at the centre The brooch is stamped with the numbers A530 on the reverse indicating this is an unsigned Sphinx brooch - it was common for Sphinx to just number their pieces as they sold to other jewellery retailers such as Kenneth Jay Lane, Butler & Wilson, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and others This is quite a large brooch measuring approx. 2 1/8" by 1 5/8", it is also quite heavy weighing approx. 36.3 grams Pre-owned with normal vintage wear such as light surface scratches and plating loss.
