Vintage Sterling Silver Red Stone Ring Circa 1950’s to 1960’s

Purchased this amazing vintage ring from a vintage seller on Etsy last year, I just never reach for it. It’s a darker red than I was wanting. It’s like a deep blood red in colour. Absolute show stopper of a ring. Not sure if the stone is a gem (if so it would be a garnet) as it was advertised as unknown. It is circa the 1950’s or 1960’s. Hand wrought, genuine .925 sterling silver stamped along with the initials JF. I absolutely LOVE the setting of this ring. Makes for a gorgeous statement piece with no doubt some history behind it. Size 6 and weighs 6 grams.
