Vintage VICTOR COSTA Cream Lace Sleeveless Long Dress, Size S/M

Victor Costa was an American ready-to-wear designer whose designs drew inspiration from top European fashion houses like Dior, Lacroix, and Ungaro. His garments closely matched the luxury designs of the season to the point that he was dubbed, "The King of the Copy Cat." Costa created garments with Parisian sensibilities and priced for everyday shoppers. This stunning vintage cream lace dress by Victor Costa features a sleeveless design with a scoop neckline, fitted bodice and long skirt, perfect for a wedding occasion. The maxi length and intricate lace overlay create a romantic and elegant look. The dress is fully lined with a soft fabric (rayon?) in a peach color. The dress has a hidden zipper at the back and a hook/eye at the top of the zipper. The size tag says the dress is a size 12. However, based on the measurements, it is closer to size 6 by today's standards. There is no fabric label. I 'think' the lace is made from cotton. There is some 'give' to the fabric, but not where there are seams (i.e. waistband). Approximate measurements (laid flat): 15" top of shoulder to waistband 13.5" waist 8.5" arm opening 16" armpit to armpit The total length of dress is 57.5"; 4" of that is fringe. It's overall condition is excellent, however there are several marks/stains - needs dry cleaning. Happy to send more info or photos. Thanks for looking!
