A vintage pretty vase that was made in West Germany. This retro vase was made by Carstens Tönnieshof in the popular design numbered 482-17 which was produced in many variations but the same basic shape. This has a gold top section with a body that is ivory/white and has maroon and brown "veins" running through it. The maroon are at the top, the brown at the bottom. The white is a drip glaze, which you can see at the base. There is a patch of yellow wash over the body of the vase here and there. The base is a solid brown at the very bottom.
NOTE:
Carstens Pottery originally started in 1900. Post war production began in 1947 in north Western Germany. Trude Carstens was artistic director until her death in 1965.
