Vintage Viners Stainless Steel Fish Knives & Fish Forks 'Shape' Pattern Set of 6 Forks 7.35", knives 8", weight all 18 oz This vintage set of six fish knives and fish forks is marked, 'Viners Stainless Steel Empire' on the back of the shafts, and are marked 'SHAPE' on the handles. Viners 'Shape' is forged from 18/8 stainless steel. The cutlery has a very distinctive retro handle, with the pattern picked out in black. The handles have a satin finish, front and back, while the bowls are mirror polished. This range of cutlery is typically stamped EMPIRE. 'Shape' was designed by Gerald Benney. A fine Goldsmith, Benney was born in Hull in 1930 and went on to study at Brighton College of Art between 1946-8 where his father was Principal. After studying at the Royal College of Art between 1950-53.
