Elegant vintage brooch featuring a genuine Wedgwood sage green jasperware plaque with white relief, depicting the classical “Sacrifice to Diana” design – two robed figures at an altar, one accompanied by a stag, symbolizing the Roman goddess of the hunt.
The jasperware plaque is impressed WEDGWOOD ENGLAND, dating it to mid-20th century (c. 1930s–1950s). It is set in a sterling silver frame stamped STERLING and maker’s mark R.G.S (likely Robert G. Stockwell, a known British silversmith who worked with Wedgwood jewelry during this period).
A timeless blend of neoclassical art and fine silver craftsmanship – perfect for collectors of Wedgwood, antique jewelry lovers, or as a meaningful gift.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition; silver shows light natural tarnish consistent with age. Many collectors prefer this patina as it adds authenticity, but it can be gently polished if a brighter finish is desired. Jasperware is clean and free of chips.
