Based on my research: most of the websites where these figurines are plased for sale describe this figurine and other figurines from this company as carved from soapstone while some are stating that they are cast and just have a stone finish. Still lovely. Made in Canada. Great vintage condition. 2.5" tall

sherlocat I adore this figurine. But I'm sorry to have to tell you, this item is not actually carved from soapstone. It is cast in plaster, and finished with a hardened gloss. Here is some information: https://www.ecommercebytes.com/guides/collectibles/wolf-originals-soapstone-carvings/
