Vintage Wood Sick Call Crucifix Religion Catholic Catholicism

For your consideration is a vintage wood sick call crucifix. Made of wood, the top slides off to reveal a storage space below. Originally, this space would have had candles and holy water. This cross would be set up at the patient's bedside, with the top fitted in a notch on the base and candles in the two candle wells. The corpus itself is a gold-tone plastic. It measures 13.25 inches tall and 7.5 inches tall. There is a hole on the back for hanging on a wall. Some of the gold finish on the plastic is worn (see photos).
