Vintage Wool Coat: 60s Frank Fong Haute Couture, Hand-Stitched Silk Lining

An exquisitely made, loose fit vintage coat from the 60’s, in near-pristine condition. Custom tailored by Frank Fong Hong Kong. The fabric is woven textured wool in shades of celery, moss and cream. It’s fully lined in hand stitched celery green silk, including the sleeves and inside the pockets. All of the inside flattened seams are finely piped in the same silk (even the seams which you don’t see underneath the lining!). A 5.5” wide section of the silk lining on both sides of the front feature an intricately patterned quilted band. I’ve never seen this before- possibly it’s for extra warmth at the front? It features side slash pockets and a concealed inner pocket in the lining. 3 large buttons closure, with a spare button included (inside pocket). A half belt with 2 buttons finishes the back and is also lined in hand stitched silk. It’s shown on a medium mannequin and would comfortably fit a large. Check your arm length measurements as the sleeves are a bit shorter than usual, as was the 60’s style. Measurements taken on the outside when lay flat: Shoulder to shoulder: 16 3/4” Armpit to armpit: 22” Sleeves: 22 1/4” Waist: 23.5” Hips: 25” Length: 39.5” In near mint condition - appears unworn. Just the hand stitching of the lining under one of the armpits has come undone slightly.
