In the 1970's, when this was purchased in Germany (at the time it was West Germany), this type of man-made material was often used to make hand made and hand painted jewelry. It could be molded by the artist. I forgot the name of it: I think it is a type of resin. It was very expensive to buy. Hue varies with light. The quarter is for sizing. Moon crescent were popular then…but they are also popular nowadays. Would be a nice gift to a baby boomer…Or to any dreamer! Condition: Like new. A conversation piece, considering its age and rarity.
