Hector Russell kilt makers (made in Scotland) is a house selling traditional kilt fashion. High quality cut and fabric: you are buying “slow” as opposed to “fast”fashion.
Authentic Scottish item. It would look nice with the now very fashionable oversized white shirt that you would wear outside your pants or skirt. Or you can wear in a traditional « very British, dear » fashion!
This is a rare vintage from the mid 1970.
Purchased locally in Scotland (Edinburgh) from a label that makes Scottish kilt fashion since the 1880's!
The tailoring and fabric are high quality.
This piece is classic and timeless.
The cut is perfect. It is tailored for about 4.5 inches from the pit. The pit is very low. I kept it all those years as a memento. Now I am downsizing. It is like new except from a very small mark at the front. It is about 4mm and inconspicuous. Looks like the fibres are missing or flattened. Maybe touching a button from a nearby garment while in storage for many years. You only see it after close inspection with a certain lighting. The garment is still beautiful but I lowered the price because of that minor default. Fully lined. It was dry cleaned before being stored for years.
Measurements in inches when flat and approximate:
- shoulders (open): 13.5
- pit to pit: when vest overlaps at the front): 18
Lenght:25
I am not sure if it is unisex or not. I bought it for myself as a size when the fashion was for velvet garments to closely fit the body.
