Vintage hand carved wooden hand

I have had this hand for over 25 years. It is approx 11 inches long and 4 inches at its widest point. I do not know the type of wood but this piece is heavy. As you can see in the pictures there are a few cracks in this carving. It had not been dropped. I have included a picture of the crack and I have also included an explanation of why the wood cracks. I searched online and found this article explaining the cracks. The piece is beautiful even with the crack.
