These are a funky pair of vintage, mid-century modern ear-rings designed in a 'brutalist' or modernist fashion. Approximately 4 cm in length, with fish-hook fasteners (one may have been replaced over the last 50-60 years). There is a signature or marking on both earrings (see photo with blue arrow). It possibly looks like L and A , possibly designer Robert Larin? The style matches for sure. Larin sometimes used his full signature, sometimes initials.
These are either sterling silver or pewter, but again, can't find a marking. The metal is relatively soft and non-magnetic, and has tarnished like I would expect sterling to. However, I do not damage my jewelry with the acids required to make a certain 'silver' confirmation. As such, I can only say the metal is 'untested'.
MCM brutalist jewelry is highly sought after, including the work of Robert Larin. . It was a unique time in design, and many of these original pieces go for high premiums online. If you like brutalist jewelry, do check out my big brutalist pendent that I'm selling also!
All items from me come from a clean, pet-friendly home. I do not clean / chemically treat my jewelry - especially on silver, as I love the patina that only comes with age. If you buy this, you may clean/treat as you see fit though! To protect against bad actors and fraud, I video myself packaging all items with the tracking number. The item you see photographed is the item you receive. See photos please
