Vintage Ports 2 piece skirt set
Button up shirt and flowy a line midi skirt in matching material. Smooth silky polyester knit.
Elastic waist skirt, side invisible zip. Tiered hem, which could have been let down possibly? Hard to tell, but you could sew the layer back up with ease at a tailor if looking for a shorter length.
The shirt is finished with elastic at the waist to make it tuck in nicely under the skirt and be less likely to ride up.A few loose threads from this seam at the front hem
Classic 70s shape with broad collar.
A great mix and match outfit, style the shirt with jeans for a Diane Keaton vibe, or wear the skirt with a silk tank for a date night look. This set is giving me Halston vibes!
Deadstock, with tags attached. Dated 1978, special order for a staff member at Gibsons department store, Mrs. Sam.
This is so special and tells such a story, with the original receipt, alteration ticket (no alterations noted), price tag, sale tag, and Ports fabric information tag all attached.
Ports is an international luxury fashion house founded by Japanese Canadian fashion designer Luke Tanabe in Toronto in 1961. This set is a lovely piece of Canadian fashion history! If you know more about the department store Gibsons, feel free to share !
