Vintage signed GF carnelian scarab brooch

This delightful owl brooch was likely crafted in the 50s or 60s, when Egyptian revival was all the rage. The scarab is beautifully carved carnelian and has characters on the back as well. The brooch measures 1-1/2 X 1-1/4 inches and is in near-perfect condition, including the clasp. Marked 1/20 12K GF (gold filled) and WRE, the mark for the W.E. Richards company, which has been making jewelry since 1909. (As you can see from the last photo, I'm reposhing this item I purchased from @sunnydaez. It is so pretty, I am hoping it will get out and be seen more often!)
