Vintage sterling Aztec calendar earrings

From the collection of a friend's family, these earrings, just under an inch in diameter, were crafted in Mexico. They feature a detailed Aztec calendar motif. They are screw back but light enough for comfortable wear. Marked Joymex (maker), Hecho en Mexico, Plata (silver) 925. In very nice condition, with some patina.
