Vintage wood & brass english magazine rack

Circa 1960's wonderful Lombard brass magazine rack has an embossed whimsical pub/tavern scene on its front, and is both decorative and functional. It works superbly to hold magazines or newspapers as shown and could also work well displayed near a fireplace holding some kindling. Brass panels adorn the front and sides of the sturdy wooden box, the back panel and feet are wooden as shown. There is lovely embossed detail on the handle and trim as well. CONDITION: This box remains sturdy and is a well made piece. There is some rust and patina consistent with the age of the item and previous usage.This only adds charm and enriches the character of this wonderful vintage piece in my opinion, however not everyone may share this view so please be sure to use the zoom feature to closely examine the condition of this item and feel free to message with any questions prior to purchasing. Some interesting history: The Lombard brand name manufactured by Croft and Assinder (aka C & A), begn in 1875 at Standard Brass Works in Birmingham, England. Lombard's brassware was marketed and distributed from the mid 1950s to 1970s in Canada by British Ceramics and Crystal, on Wellington Street W., in Toronto, Canada.
