The White Stag company began as an offshoot of the Hirsch-Weis Manufacturing Company of Portland, Oregon, which made durable outdoor clothing and supplies worn by loggers, mill hands, and stockmen. Hirsch-Weis began marketing in 1931 as White Stag, from the literal English translation of the parent company’s names weis and hirsch. The company was a well known and trusted maker of quality clothing through the 20th century, and these hunting pants are some of the oldest and well made from the company. The classic red and black red wool has very light wear, shown in photos. Metal Zip closure , double layer backside, tie closure cuffs, and plenty of pockets. Items are no longer made with this kind of quality and care that, and another piece of this age and condition is not often come by. This is an exceptional piece of history.
