This contemporary, angular adaptation is constructed from eco-friendly biodegradable acetate, and is fitted with semi-flat lenses and hand-laid Glyph detailing on the temples. Hinges The Empire come equipped with German-engineered five-barrel hinges. They are paired with coated safety screws to minimize metal-on-metal rubbing and corrosion. These hinges are tested to the nanometer to ensure a high level of precision and functionality day after day, year after year. Made from Biodegradable Acetate Conventional acetate is made using a petroleum-based bonding agent that can take over 1000 years to decompose in a landfill. The Empire use a vegetable-oil bonding agent and meet ISO 14855 biodegradable standards. Made with Green Nylon Lenses The Empire use ‘Green Nylon’ lenses, which are made with 39% plant oils. Their performance is identical to conventional Nylon, CR39 and Polycarbonate lenses, however their carbon and energy footprints are significantly smaller. Case These sunglasses come with a faux-leather soft case with flocked inner lining and neon green contrast stitch. Also includes a 100% recycled microfiber polishing cloth with branded detail.
