Vtg. 1950’s AUTHENTIC LEATHER + SUEDE HANDBAG Embossed Croc/Gator/Snake

This is a very elegant and well-kept patent leather handbag with minimal signs of wear - especially considering its age. The label indicates that the bag was made in England for the Hudson’s Bay Company, but no specific maker is mentioned. The leather is black and brown, and I was informed that it was embossed with a crocodile pattern (although it could be alligator or snake). The purse measures 22.7 cm. (9 in.) x 15.7 cm. (6-1/8 in) x 8 cm. (3-1/8 in.) deep. There is a brass snap closure on the front flap, and twin skinny leather handles that add about 11.4 cm. (4-1/2 in.) to the overall height. The rich tan suede interior has 2 side slip pockets and there is also a fabric-lined zip pocket. A few spots on the outer leather show some wear – mainly from rubbing on the corners and edges. The interior suede is clean except for a few marks which might be able to be removed or treated. All blemishes are clearly shown in the photos, and I have tried to accurately describe and show the exact condition of this very classy handbag. Comes from non-smoking home, no pets.
