Gorgeous floral print a-line dress from a Givenchy x Kay Windsor department store collab 💐
This dress features a scallop neckline in front and back, a zip back closure with thick thread hook-and-eye closure, and pockets!
Label tag is frayed and no fabric tag is attached however dress feels like a cotton blend. Dress is also unlined which according to my research is consistent with the average dress from the 1950’s since women in that era wore their own slips/petticoats under their clothes. Aside from frayed label the only other flaw is some rusting of the hook above the zipper.
A different style dress with the same print was found on Etsy (sold); sellers’ item description reads as follows:
‘In 1957, Hubert de Givenchy entered into a licensing agreement with the Kay Windsor dress company of Boston. The ad shown states, "Hubert de Givenchy, that brilliant young fashion wizard of Paris, has created these lively spring prints exclusively for Kay Windsor." It is believed that the partnership lasted only for that one year, making this dress extremely rare and collectible.’
