"The Canadiana Cookbook" by Madame Jehane Benoit. Published in 1970. First edition. A great gift for a cook / baker who appreciates heritage recipes. Hard cover with a dust jacket 210 pages, including an index. Several black-and-white illustrations throughout. DETAILS - Jehane Benoit (1904 - 1987) was a Cordon Bleu and Sorbonne-trained chef, but she was best known as the cheerful cook who taught Canadian home cooks how to make delicious food. - "The Canadiana Cookbook" highlights how different geographical regions and the intermingling of different cultures, plus simple ingredients cooked with care, has led to the success of Canadian cuisine. - Madame Benoit provides traditional recipes from across Canada, divided by the country's provinces and territories (as of 1970). - approximate measurements: 9.5" H x 6.5" W x 1" D CONDITION Overall, good preowned condition. The dust jacket has a few rips and signs of shelf wear. The interior has been largely well-maintained, with the exception of two thin stripes of discolouration on two pages. Please see the photos.
