Vtg COACH Dakota Series Red Pebbled Box-Grain Leather Crossbody Rider Bag HTF

From COACH, an amazing vintage Dakota Series Red Pebbled Leather Rider Crossbody Bag. Vintage 1990s and very hard to find, often called a unicorn. Cowhide;Leather The Dakota series Rider Bag, introduced in ‘92, only made for a short time. This was made from what was described as "a rugged 'box-grain' textured cowhide that will always retain its new appearance." The front flap has a magnetic snap closure under the decorative brass and leather covered peg detail. The smooth tan leather trim includes an adjustable shoulder strap and the center strip that runs across the top and aligns with the center patch on the full length back wall pocket. Brass hardware. Inside is unlined. There is a full length zippered inside pocket made from beige pigskin suede. Coach creed patch has no numbers (they were not styled on this series) but does say Made In Italy. Includes Coach leather hang tag. Bag has minimal wear, last two photos shown. The red textured leather is still firm and solid and richly colored. The tan bridle leather trim-- which was the weaker point on these bags-- shows some scratches and wear but is still smooth and supple. Inside is very clean. Brass hardware in great shape. No odors, non-smoking home. Measures approximately 9.25” x 7" x 3" with 21-23" strap drop.
