Vtg Chinese Carved Lacquered Jewelry Box Birds and Flower Design Velvet Lined

Beautiful intricately carved wood jewelry box of Chinese origin. It is lined with red velvet and has a brass clasp. The clasp probably originally had a lock or a small bar to go through it and hold it shut. The carvings cover all four sides and the top of the box. The design is of birds surrounded by ornate florals. The wood has a dark red color from the lacquer coating. Very good vintage condition. The hinges are little bit loose and there are some very minor scratches on the outside of the box on the front and top. 9" long by 6" wide by 4.5" deep
