21 inch hat is a size 6 7/8 or 54cm and you have said size is 7-8 ... if there is a tag saying 7 something that something is a fraction ... so did you measure too small or is this a 7 1/8 which is about 22 1/4 inches ?

@windsor1355 hi there I measured it with a piece of string. also on the inside under the tab as shown in the picture there is a number that looks like it's printed backwards 7-8.

yes please ... if you can find a head that this hat fits so you can just slip a little finger inside , measure that head with your string technique and then i will be able to come up with euro and american size equivalents for us ... what ever you do will be appreciated ...

@windsor1355 so the hat happens to fit my daughter very well and she can just about get her pinky finger in, her head measures 21.5 inches, I hope this helps.

good job ! this is a 21 1/2 inch, size 6 7/8 or 55cm ... it is a size small hat and a full inch smaller than my 59cm head ... this is a superior fur hat and better made than more contemporary hats ... i am sorry that i have to pass on this !
