An antique straight razor with its original case. It was made by W. Picard which, despite the French name, was a German company owned by Carl Greiss in Cronenberg. It operated from the 1870s through the 1920s; I suspect that this particular razor is from the later periods. It is stamped with "W. Picard Garanti" along with the number 51. There are no notches on the blade and the handle, which looks to be made of bakelite, has no cracks. The case is from the retail store that sold it: Coutellerie F. Serck, which was based in the village of Ste. Elisabeth in Quebec. Its address, 46 Fosse (Fosse means ditch) no longer exists.
The case is 6 5/8" while the folded razor is 6 1/8" end to end.
