A young german boy who moved to a place where he could no longer play the games he used to because he moved away from his friends and in this nice home beside ... There are people on the other side of the fence- They all jump to attention whenever the soldiers approach - Sometimes they fall to the ground. Sometimes they do not get up. Five stars have been given to this book. I personally read this and would give it 5 stars as well. A real insight.Author uses general knowledge about the Holocaust to create a self descrisbed "fable" relies more on a story of moral truth than historical accuracy. Book listed for a Carnigie medal. Two million copies sold. Author uses knowledge of Holocast to create a "fable" story. Book is paperback. (a fictional reflection but the flavour of WWII)
