Wade Whimsies, Canadian Nursery Rhyme Series, Red Rose Tea Promotions, Lot of 20 Vintage collectibles circa 1970 to1979. Pre-owned and in excellent condition. Sizes range between 1" and 2". There are 20 Whimsies in this lot: 1. Cat and Fiddle, 3. Hickory Dickory Dock, 4. Little Boy Blue, 5. Little Jack Horner, 7. Little Miss Muffet, 8. The Three Bears, 9. Jill, 10. Old Lady who lived in a Shoe, 11. Mother Goose, 12. Red Riding Hood, 13. Pied Piper, 14. Jack, 15. Tom the Piper's Son, 16. Humpty Dumpty, 17. Wee Willie, 18. Goosy Gander, 19. The House that Jack Built, 20. Old King Cole, 22. Baa Baa Black Sheep, 24. Little Bo Peep Wade potteries created 'Whimsies' which became popular and collectable following their retail launch in 1954, and that were available until early 1980's. Of all the many Wade Whimsies figurines that have been produced , probably the most famous, recognizable & still (to this day) very popular series ever made would have to be the Canadian Red Rose Tea Nursery Rhyme Series or “Nurseries”. First introduced in 1971 the theme of this second promotion/series was based upon children’s nursery rhymes & fairy tales & became an instant success, it would run until 1979.
