Black basalt stoneware is a dense, unglazed ceramic perfected by Josiah Wedgwood in the late 18th century and remains one of the company’s most iconic materials.
This particular vase features impressed neoclassical scenes and bears the "WEDGWOOD / MADE IN ENGLAND" mark, consistent with post - 1940 production.
The impressed letters and overall design suggest 1963.
