risley1223 @bjtalk03 About 14 years ago, I used the AKC breed selector that matches the dog's energy to your family. It matched us with several breeds and that is how I learned about the Havanese. You may find this process helpful as you select the next pet for your family. 💜

karasene2001 Just love the Havanese, we had one in our rescue. She She was white with beige mixed in and she was deaf. I have had several Maltese, a maltese bichon mix and a westie Lhasa apso mix. Sadly I have only one left and he's been a bit lonely since his brother's passed. I'm thinking it's about time to start looking.

karasene2001 @risley1223 It amazes me how well dogs adapt to losing hearing or sight. I had no idea they were so colorful, we only had the 1 while I was in the rescue. You might be able to see the pics of my fur babies. It's my only listing right now. I'm going to start researching and find out more about these beauties. Do they tend to gravitate to one person? The maltese sure do.

risley1223 @karasene2001 Your furry baby is sooo cute! Fourteen years ago, we used the AKC breed finder to match our energy with a dog breed. The Havanese was one of our top matches. They are very loving and playful to all people, kids, and other animals. The male is the lap dog. The female is independent. We ended up with three, 2 females and one male, a couple years apart. If you enjoy rescue dogs, this may be a good breed for you.
