velvetspell @gildeborah Hi Deborah, welcome to Poshmark! You can only share your listings and others listings one at a time. It can be very time consuming! I think if you were able to share multiple at a time it would overload their servers. I do wish that was a quicker way to do it though!

velvetspell @stephalex1967 Hi Steph! Welcome to Poshmark 😊 You’ve got a great start so far. A few things you can do to try and get some sales: 1) Share more listings. When you share other people’s listings it increases exposure to your closet and you start to get more eyes on your items. When people return shares, it then goes to their followers and you get even more eyes on your listing. Hopefully someone sees it and just has to have it!

velvetspell @stephalex1967 2) Make sure your sharing your closet 2-3x per day, usually during the parties when more people are active on the app. When you share your listing, it brings it to the top of the search results for that brand and is also shared to your followers. 3) Follow more people. Click on my followers at the top of my closet and follow as many as you can. Do that with larger closets that are very active to increase your follower count and being activity to your closet.

velvetspell @stephalex1967 4) A few of your pictures look a little hazy. Try cleaning the lens of your phone/camera and see if that doesn’t help the crispness of your pictures. 5) Add more listings! I have 800+ active listings and will still go a day with no sales or only 1-2 sales. It doesn’t happen often, but I noticed a lot more sales when I had 200+ listings. I hope this helps! That’s so exciting 😄 I do crosspost when I have time, but I have about 1/4 of my listings there and am very selective about what I post - mostly shoes. This isn’t my full time job, but if it was I would crosspost more. There are completely different buyers on each platform. I’ve had stuff sell on one platform that was sitting for months on the other.

velvetspell @stephalex1967 Sure! I usually spend 1-1.5 hours taking pictures and measuring during the week after work and 2-3 hours on weekend days. I try and list/re-list 5-10 items a day if I can. Shoes and swimwear take less time to photograph and list so I tend to do those more during the week. I crosspost during the day if I have time on my lunch break or if I’m slow at work. I don’t really have a set schedule I just work as much as I can!

But to get to 800+ active listings for sale has taken me about a year or so? I started buying new with tags merchandise in bulk about then and have been able to grow substantially.

velvetspell @doublesouthern Hi! Storage is probably my biggest problem. I do a combination of bins and racks. Most items are packaged in poly bags and sorted into bins by category after they are listed. Heavier items, like coats/jackets or high value items are stored on a hanger on rolling z-racks. I have several shoe racks that hold all of my shoes. I track the location of everything using an app called Airtable. I hope this helps! I’m still learning stuff daily and changing how I do things 😊

velvetspell @doublesouthern Sharing your items should be your #1 priority (other than adding new listings). When you share your listings they go to the feed and the top of search results. Sharing others listings definitely helps get exposure to your closet as well as following other people.

velvetspell @doublesouthern I created a new base with a table that includes fields for item/picture/sku (my tracking #)/product category/location/size/COG/date listed, etc. I have a seperate table within that base that tracks my sales and is linked to my original inventory table. It is very similar to Excel, but way easier to use in my opinion and the app is fantastic. You can totally customize it to fit your needs - most people don't need to track the amount of info I do.

velvetspell @doublesouthern I have some things that sell minutes after listing and others that take a year to sell. A lot of people think you can just list things and they’ll sell in a week or two without any effort, and that’s not always the case. I’m a firm believer if you put your heart in to something it will pay off. I’ve been doing this for a few years and I’m always learning something new! On Poshmark you have 3 days to open a case if there is anything wrong with your purchase and your purchase was completed more than a month and a half ago.

You can try reaching out to Poshmark support and they may be able advise you on any options (if any) that are available.

velvetspell @kristadye1 Oh, great! If you ever needed to return something, Poshmark will send you a pre-paid label via email. Typically this only happens if you open a case and a return is granted. If they are refunding you over a month after the sale was completed, I imagine it is on their own dime and a return is not needed because I have not received any communication from Poshmark regarding this transaction.

shopsideproject First of all I adore your closet and the aesthetic behind it. Since I just started taking my closet seriously its a mix of things, but the goal is definetly to be higher end in my closet. I listed alot of our personal luxury pieces and am scared of all the scams that go on, so I’m debating taking them off of this site. Any tips you have on selling luxury and not having a heart attack in the process would be greatly appreciated.

velvetspell @shopsideproject Thank you so much! Honestly, I don’t do anything different with my higher end pieces. I treat every item the same - clear, bright pictures and detailed descriptions (try to provide measurements if you can) and list any flaws the item might have. I don’t usually take offers that are more than 50% off my asking price. In my experience, those sales usually result in issues (cases, difficult buyers, etc).

I think the biggest tip I can give is to take as many pictures as you can that show every angle (including any tags) and flaws so the buyer knows exactly what they are getting!
