jessemac93Fellow dog lover here :) What an adorable, beautiful puppy you have! Is that a New Guinea Singing Dog by any chance?

Jul 02Reply

upcyclefox@jessemac93 thank you!! ♥️ her name is Riley. she’s actually a Shiba Inu, but I will admit I hadn’t thought about it - she does have an uncanny resemblance with her coloring 😂 I saw you’ve got a sweet pupper too!

Jul 02Reply

jessemac93@ksm891 No way!!! I had a shiba I i growing up :) such intelligent, but stubborn animals. Your furry baby is gorgeous and I’m sure everywhere you go, she gets so many compliments! I LOVE shibass

Jul 02Reply

upcyclefox@jessemac93 you’re not kidding - stubborn, almost as stubborn as I am LOL but oh my goodness so smart!! They’re such amazing dogs. And she’s a sweetheart, so friendly with other dogs and people. She used to have black fur on her head that matched her body when she was a baby, and when her puppy fur shedded off it was like changing Barbie heads between dolls lol such a love!! I want another one so she has a buddy but man... I’ve got my hands full already 😂♥️

Jul 02Reply

jessemac93@ksm891 only shiba owners would really understand - these dogs are so smart, they’re oftentimes too smart for their own good. Riley has very unusual coloring, is she a red sesame (that’s what my little girl was)? I could talk about how amazing shibas are all day and all night. Does your girl make that adorable woofing sound and wagging the curly tail when you come home? There’s nothing like a shiba greeting.

Jul 02Reply

jessemac93And as a shiba owner, you’d understand about the annual “blowing of the coat.” Just clumps and clumps of fur everywhere, like the shearing of a sheep!! But it’s worth it because we love them

Jul 02Reply

upcyclefox@jessemac93 oh the Shiba SHED. She’s just finishing her first big shed, SO MUCH FUR. I joked about saving it and spooling it into yarn for a local LA hipster to buy 😂 “organic hand twilled Shiba yarn. All the rage right now” Her coloring is so different- she’s got the cutest little stripes on her chest. I think AKC recognizes it as “incorrect sesame”. Actually, Eminem’s daughter has one that looks just like Riley too 😂

Jul 02Reply

upcyclefox@jessemac93 I added another photo of her for you 😂 And the cute little howl she does when we get home - I DIE! He tail shake. We call it her “mechanical tail” because if it’s cadence back and forth 😂♥️ her Little personality is hilarious. So independent but needy! I love her soooo much lol. She just turned 1 on the 23rd! and yes, she did get a birthday pupper cookie cake. seriously I could go on for DAYS!

Jul 02Reply

jessemac93@ksm891 thanks so much for adding that photo - I can tell she’s a shiba in the last photo - she is Soo Precious! They have such teddy bear faces. We always used to get stopped on the street by people asking “is that dog part fox.”? Besides other spitz breeds, I don’t think there’s any dog more fiercely loyal to their owners than the shiba inu.
