An exceptionally rare vintage a-line skirt in excellent condition, likely from the early to mid-90s GAP collection. The tag predates GAP placing the season/year on their pieces, which I believe started in the late 90s. The skirt is constructed in rayon, which was a popular textile for skirts in that era given its beautiful drape and flow. It features an understated, feminine floral print typical of that period -- contrasting the masculine styles and "power suits" that were appearing in women's work wear (Calvin Klein, DKNY). Easy to pair with a black or white baby tee or a cropped sweater.
The skirt fastens with buttons on the left side, and each button is firmly attached. There are no signs of wear on the skirt that I can see -- it looks as though it was never worn. The only flaw I can detect is inherent to the construction: if you look at the back of the waistband closely (last photo), you can see that there is a slight error in assemblage as the body of the skirt and waistband were not perfectly flush when joined together. I would say this is only noticeable to the most scrutinizing person, and difficult to detect when worn.
Waist width: 12.75 inches/32.5 cm
Length: 18.5 inches/47 cm
