Yohji Yamamoto Pour Homme
Collection: Archive (from 1981 to 1985)
Composition: Wool (100%)
Made in Japan.
A rare design from the very first seasons of Yohji Yamamoto's Pour Homme collection in the early 1980s. This shirt can be dated by the both the curvature in the signature on the label, the tea-coloured material used for the label, the garment care tag, and the distinctive style. The textured geometric two-colour jacquard is incredibly soft and light, featuring an open and airy gauze knit with a weight suitable for all seasons.
This design includes six pankou (knotted) buttons on the front placket, a double-button stand collar (also known as a Nehru or Mandarin collar), pankou buttons on each sleeve, side vents, and unique elliptical welt pockets. The craftsmanship is refined, reflecting the high standards of Japanese artisanship Yohji Yamamoto's fabrication and materials-sourcing is renowned for. There are a few threads, and no structural or other issues, making it an excellent piece for collectors.
