This finely balanced olla was crafted in the renowned pottery village of Mata Ortiz in Chihuahua, Mexico. The piece is signed by Yolanda Ledezma, one of the Ledezma family artisans recognized for precision geometric painting. This contemporary form reflects the influence of both ancient Paquimé designs and modern optical patterning. Burnished terracotta pottery with narrow opening and wide, flattened globular form. Hand-painted terracotta red and black checkerboard pattern covering the entire exterior. Signed on the base: “Yolanda Ledezma” Very good condition with minor signs of handling; no visible chips or cracks, white marks in photos are glare from my in cabinet lighting.
