You and your very special pearl

Gift box with a can that could hold any one of 5 different coloured pearls, all holding their own special meaning. Box has never been opened but has a bit of damage. The can is actually filled with liquid and an oyster that you open to extract your pearl from. I’m not sure how old this is as I came across it it a yard sale.
